Shanna Robinson
I understand the world and myself better when I make things to help me interpret my surroundings. - Shanna

Shanna has been making art from a variety of materials for more than forty years. Working in textiles, sculpture and printmaking, she has created a varied body of work connected by her love of nature.

Shanna fabricates dyes and inks from plants and bugs, weaves with plant, animal and reclaimed materials, and produces prints based on signature marks such as tree rings and fingerprints. She always seeks to work in ways that connect her with the natural world.

In her teaching studio Shanna aspires to create a relaxed environment of exploration and curiosity where one can learn hands-on skills. She encourages individuals to focus attention, release stress and develop creative fluency through making art.
